MAPLEWOOD, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol says a crash that closed down all westbound lanes of Highway 36 in Maplewood during Friday's morning rush hour is now fatal.
It happened near the junction with Highway 61 around 6:00 a.m. Details are sketchy but the patrol did post on its Twitter page that at least one person did not survive.
At the time of the crash MnDOT said Highway 36 was expected to be closed for at least 4 hours so the fatal accident could be reconstructed and cleaned up.
The road was reopened to traffic around 9:30 a.m.
