MINNESOTA, USA — Temperatures will start off milder this morning as south winds kick off our next warming trend for the first half of the week.
Temperatures will steadily climb through the 50s this morning, ending up in the lower half of the 60s for much of the afternoon.
Those south breezes will push temperatures into the 60s for many under mostly sunny skies.
This stretch of warm temperatures will end when a strong cold front crawls across the region on Tuesday. This front will clearly divide the 40s and 50s to the north from the 70s and low 80s to the south. This cold front will eventually slide southeast later Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
While this rain will fall mainly as showers, there could be a few rumbles of thunder. The heavier rainfall totals north of the front are the result of this cold front stalling while it bisects the region from southwest to northeast; any shift in position or overall speed will result in changes in rainfall totals.
The precipitation outlook shows signs of a wetter pattern as we exit October and head into November. This is the result of our weather pattern shifting to more southwesterly winds pulling in Gulf moisture along with a more active atmosphere.
Behind our midweek cold front, a small area of low pressure will keep our weather dry and seasonal for Halloween before we start to warm heading into the weekend.
