MINNESOTA, USA — Our high temperature for Monday is going to occur at midnight while light rain begins to fall around the Twin Cities.
Looking at the broader picture, ight rain and snow showers will develop in the late evening hours extending from southwestern Minnesota into central and northern parts of the state including the Twin Cities.
Those overnight showers are expected to strengthen into Monday morning over the Twin Cities into western Wisconsin and the Arrowhead region. There will be some accumulation along with slick spots on area roads for the Monday morning commute; be sure to give yourself extra travel time and stopping distance. Drive carefully.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory for the Arrowhead region and northern Wisconsin where the heaviest snowfall is expected. This is going to lead to difficult driving conditions overnight and throughout Monday while snow continues to accumulate on area roads and reduces visibilities.
While snowfall isn't expected to be excessive in most neighborhoods, it is going to be coming down between late Sunday and Monday morning, so it will be impacting road conditions as you head out the door.
Afternoon temperatures will range from teens in northwestern Minnesota to the upper 30s in western Wisconsin. The mercury will be gradually dropping throughout the day with the help of strong northwest winds of 10-20 mph gust to 30 mph.
Temperatures will be trending just below freezing for much of the week until the mercury plummets on Black Friday.
There will be a weak disturbance coming through our atmosphere on Wednesday and Thursday resulting in flurries around the area. Arctic air will settle into the region just in time for the weekend.
