BURNSVILLE, Minn. — A Burnsville High School student was arrested Tuesday morning after police found a loaded gun in their backpack.
According to a press release, the Burnsville Police Department was called to the school at around 10:40 a.m. on a report that two students may be in possession of guns. School staff confirmed with officers that one student had a gun in their backpack. When officers secured the gun, they found that it was loaded with live ammunition, according to the release.
Staff also told police about the possibility of a second student having a firearm, however, no gun was ever located.
According to police, no threats were made, no shots were fired and the school never entered into a lockdown.
