MINNEAPOLIS — The American Lung Association is inviting people to "Fight For Air" during an annual fundraiser at U.S. Bank Plaza on Saturday.
The "Fight For Air Climb" is a unique event where participants climb 680 steps over 31 floors to help raise awareness for lung disease and lung cancer. The event raises money for research, as well as educational programs aimed at preventing youth e-cigarette use and helping people quit smoking.
According to the American Lung Association, lung cancer is the number one cancer killer in Minnesota, and more than a half-million people in the state are living with lung disease.
Organizers say previous years of the "Fight For Air Climb" have included participants of all ages, including climbers with asthma, COPD, and lung cancer.
This year's "Fight For Air Climb" begins at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at U.S. Bank Plaza. Climbers can learn more about the event and register to participate on the American Lung Association's "Fight For Air Climb" website.
