St. Paul Police investigating homicide in South Como neighborhood

ST PAUL, Minn. — Police are investigating after a man was found dead Friday morning inside a home in St. Paul's South Como neighborhood.

St. Paul Police received a call around 7:30 a.m. Friday reporting a man dead inside a home on the 900 block of Hatch Avenue. When officers arrived, they spoke with the 911 caller, who said a woman informed them that a man was dead inside the residence. When officers entered the home, they found a man unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We're going to work with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner to determine exactly what killed him," said St. Paul Police spokesperson Sgt. Mike Ernster at a press conference Friday afternoon. "There is a level of trauma to his person that does indicate that we believe this is a homicide, we just do not know exactly what caused his death yet. We'll be working to get those facts."

Police say no arrests have been made and didn't release any information about potential suspects.

While responding to the call, police shot and killed a dog inside the home after Ernster said the dog bit one of the officers.
