MINNEAPOLIS — Running is a way of life for Mary Croft.
The proof is hung on her walls.
"This is a perfect wall to have them," said Croft looking at all her Twin Cities Marathon posters. "I've got more than 20."
She is 73 and has run in every single Twin Cities Marathon dating back to 1982.
So many memories she revisited Thursday.
"Here's one at the start," she said looking at one of her photos.
Mary has run more than 200 marathons. She's got the medals too.
"These are half of what I have," Croft said looking at her medals.
This Sunday she'll run in her 38th straight Twin Cities Marathon.
What could so motivate Mary to keep going?
"Somehow I got it in my blood and I kept doing it," Mary said. "Called it my running meditation and that's how I look at it."
She was also encouraged by her late husband David.
"Of course I had a lot of support from my husband who's idea it was for me to do that," said Mary.
David was always with her every step of the way.
"He was my best cheerleaders," said Mary.
The 2019 Twin Cities Marathon won't be her last either.
"We got to go to 40," said Mary. "Yeah."
